I grew up playing hockey. Then, in my teens I had to quit when I was hit by a car and broke my leg. Tough one, bud.

 

Between surgeries and physio, it took two years to get back on my feet. During that time I spent hundreds of hours playing music and recording songs in my bedroom because it was something I could do even when I couldn't walk. Looking back, that was the start of my recording career!

 

From that point on, I devoted myself to music. I did sports on the side, competing with my local swim team and eventually becoming a coach. But my professional life has been all music. I have written, recorded, taught, toured internationally, won and been nominated for national music awards and met lots of great folks.

 

Then my son was born. By that time my wife and I were living in Nova Scotia, Canada, where hockey is a way of life. He started hockey when he was five (late by local standards) and just like that, I became a hockey dad.

My son and I wrote and recorded our first team anthem for his U7 hockey squad. It rocked. They still use it as their entrance music and goal song! One thing led to another and now we're offering your team and fans the anthem they deserve.
